About Us
TINA'S BABY is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping underprivileged and under-served residents in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area to end the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient, healthy, and prosperous. Founded in 2014, Tina's Baby has provided service to over 5500 local residents. In 2016 we held our first Prom Gown Giveaway providing dresses and accessories to 100 high school girls. As of date, our event has grown significantly in size, and we have assisted at least 1,200 middle and high school girls with prom and graduation attire. We know that our youth are incredibly challenged by today's society, and our programs are designed to add a positive effect on the quality of life as a whole by teaching self-love, discipline, teamwork, and incorporating art, cultural knowledge, history, and other educational tools. To achieve this we have partnered with the neighboring organizations including the Department of Employment Services & Office of Youth Programs to become a host for Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program, which provides 200 youth jobs. We also have experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Our programs include Career Development and Lifeskills Training, Visual and Graphic Art Design, Healthy Eating Cooking Class, Weight Loss Training, Small Group Sessions, First Aid, CPR, and AED Cert, and Sustainable Practices.
